Stop sending project update emails. Give clients their own portal.
Manage each client project in a Google Sheet. Share a private link and your client sees their own professional dashboard. Deliverables, files, invoices, and activity feed. No login system to build.
Every freelancer knows this pain
- •Client emails asking for status updates
- •You email a PDF and they lose it
- •Client asks where the invoice is
- •You resend the same files multiple times
- •Client cannot find the feedback link
- •You spend time on admin instead of work

Use our starter sheet with tabs for Overview, Deliverables, Files, and Invoices. Duplicate it for each new client.
Fill in your client's project details
Replace sample data with real project info. Add milestones, deliverable status, file links, and invoice rows.
Connect to SheetRocket
Paste your sheet URL in SheetRocket and pick the Freelancer Project Portal template. Customize colors and layout to match your brand.
Share the private link with your client
Send your client their unique URL like acmecorp.sheetrocket.site?token=xxxxx. Only they can access it.

| Situation | Without SheetRocket | With SheetRocket |
|---|---|---|
| Client asks for a status update | You write an email with the latest progress. | They open their portal and see live milestones. |
| Client needs an invoice | You search your inbox and resend the PDF. | Invoice history is always available in the portal. |
| Client cannot find a file | You dig through email threads to resend it. | Files tab shows every asset with download links. |
| Client wants project progress | You schedule a call or send a spreadsheet. | Overview dashboard updates from your sheet automatically. |
| You spend time on admin | Hours on email back and forth every week. | Clients self serve from their private portal. |
Frequently asked questions
Do my clients need to create an account?
No. Your client clicks the private link you share and sees their portal immediately. No account creation. No password unless you want one. Just a unique private URL.
Can two clients accidentally see each other?
No. Each client gets a completely separate portal with their own unique URL. Portals are entirely independent. One client cannot access another client's portal.
What if I need to update the client on something?
Add a row to the Activity Feed tab in their Google Sheet. It appears in their portal immediately. No email needed.
Can clients download files through the portal?
Yes. Add file links (Google Drive, Dropbox, or any URL) to the Files tab. Clients see a Download button for each file.
How much does it cost?
The free plan includes one client portal. The Pro plan at $19/month includes unlimited client portals with no SheetRocket branding.
